Nyack Falls to Goldey-Beacom at Home

Nyack, NY– The Nyack College women's soccer team hosted the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning on Saturday afternoon in a CACC match. The Lightning were ranked second in the CACC before today's contest.

Final: Goldey-Beacom 2, Nyack 1
Records: GBC (13-4-0, 10-1-0 CACC), NC (4-9-1, 4-6-1 CACC)
Location: Nyack, New York

The Lightning scored first in the ninth minute of the game. But Nyack answered immediately when a Camila Parada cross found Milena Ricken six minutes later. Ricken finished the cross with a quick tap in into the lower right corner.

Goldey-Beacom kept pushing for another goal but either missed the net or was denied by Nyack's goalkeeper Nicole Benesch. Nyack was able to defend the 1-1 tied until the 52nd minute. The referee didn't give a foul on Parada right outside the Lightning box which started a counter attack that was finished for the 2-1 lead by the Goldey-Beacom attack.

Milena Ricken scored her first goal of the season, while goalkeeper Nicole Benesch finished the day with 13 saves.

The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the Felician University Golden Falcons for their senior day, which is also the last regular season games for Nyack. The kick off is slated for 3pm.
