The Nyack College Women's Soccer team faced off in an away conference game today against Holy Family University. In a game that was dominated by Holy Family, the Warriors fought hard but were unable to produce enough to win the game.
The first half of the game took off quickly when Holy Family put themselves on the scoreboard within the first fifteen seconds of the game. Nyack was put in a position to play defense, as Holy Family dominated the offense scoring another goal at eight minutes. Nicole Benesch was able to make three saves before Holy Family snuck their way in scoring two more goals within minutes of each other at the end of the first half.
The beginning of the second half produced more of the same. Holy Family made three shots on goal before they were able to find the back of the net at a time of 60:14 and at 75:09. Holy Family had scored six goals before Nyack put themselves on the scoreboard with a shot by Camila Parada. Within three minutes of their first goal, Nyack was able to secure a goal on a shot by Shanice Rapp, assisted by Avery Chance. Holy Family managed to score two more goals and Nyack was unable to catch up ending the game with a final score of 2-8.
