The Nyack College women's soccer team competed in a home conference game against Wilmington University. Today was their senior game where they honored the players Nicole Benesch, Avery Chance, Camila Parada, and Lorely Gutierrez on their time at Nyack and their final year playing college soccer.
The game started off slow, Wilmington had three corner kicks within the first couple of minutes of the game. At a time of 10:43 Shanice Rapp took a shot on goal which flew wide left. Wilmington came back with a shot on goal three minutes later which was too high. No goals were scored in the first half but the Wildcats managed to have seven shots on goal and the Warriors had three shots on goal in this half, none of which were able to secure a goal.
In the second half of the game, the Wildcats put themselves on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at a time of 49:42. Nyack came back less than five minutes later with a goal by Parker Betts and tieing up the score at 1-1. The Warriors fought off the Woldcats for the whole game until the final ten minutes when Wilmington managed to slip by the defense and score, winning the game 2-1.
