Volleyball Announces Signing of Abigail Lawson

Nyack, NY - Nyack Head Volleyball Coach Raquel Shaffer is pleased to announce the signing of Abigail Lawson.

Abigail Lawson is a 5'11" Outside Hitter, Right Side Hitter and Middle Blocker from Mililani, Hawaii. Abbey will graduate in May with the Class of 2013 from Mid-Pacific Institute, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mid-Pacific Institute's volleyball program is part of the highly competitive Division 1 Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH). Abbey is the only four year Varsity player on her team and was selected as Team Captain her Junior and Senior Year because of her leadership and athletic contributions on the court.

Abbey has played competitive club volleyball with Jammers Volleyball Club and Rainbow Asics Volleyball Club for the past seven years. Each year her club has competed at the USAV Junior National Volleyball Tournaments where in 2008 her team placed 2nd Place in the USAV Junior National Gold Division and 2010 1st Place in the USAV Junior National Silver Division.

Abbey is the daughter of Larry and Tracy Lawson and attends Jesus Christ the Hope of the Nations Church where she is the lead female singer on the worship team. Abbey is excited to attend Nyack College and participate in the volleyball program; she chose Nyack because it provides her a Christ-centered, competitive environment where she can continue to grown both as an athlete and Christian. She looks forward to joining the volleyball program and contributing to the success of the team.
