Volleyball Falls to Saint Rose on the Road, 3-0

ALBANY, NY (September 20, 2013)

The Nyack women's volleyball team traveled to face non-Central Atlentic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponents at the College of Saint Rose on Friday evening.

The Warriors were unable to grab a victory, falling 0-3 to the Golden Knights.

Nyack would drop the first two sets 23-25 as Saint Rose took a 2-0 advantage. The Golden Knights then closed out the match in the third set with a 18-25 win.

Sophomore middle hitter Samantha Garza (North Branch, MI) and freshman middle blocker Christy Andrews (Houston, TX) shared the team-high of eight kills for Nyack. Senior setter Brianna Kane handed out a match-high 28 assists while senior libero Michelle Makela (Cocoa, FL) also had a match-high behind 15 digs.

The Warriors, now 4-7, 1-0 CACC, are scheduled to compete next in a tri-match hosted by American International College (AIC) on Saturday, September 21st in Springfield, MA.

The first Nyack match will be against Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) at 3pm followed by their second and final match of the day with Stonehill College at 7pm.
