NYACK, NY (October 15, 2013)
Playing in front of 350 riled up Warrior fans Nyack volleyball (12-11, 8-2 CACC) did it again, proving why they are worthy of their No. 2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference ranking with a 3-0 sweep over rivals Dominican College (4-17, 4-7 CACC) on Tuesday night.
Match scores would reflect: 16-25, 21-25 and 21-25
Coach Raquel Schaffer states: "I'm excited to see all the hard work my team has put into this season paying off. It's a blessing to honor God with our gift of volleyball."
The win gives the ladies its 6th-straight victory, marking the highest streak in both the north and south division of the CACC as well as the longest winning streak in school history.
Nyack continues to remain undefeated at home on the year with 7 wins.
"I'm proud of this new chapter of Nyack volleyball. We're playing competitively and it's incredibly exciting to have the support of the student body." Replies Coach Shaffer, "we are humbled by all the love."
Warrior Samantha Garza (North Branch, MI) and Deborah Schendel (Great Falls, MT) each led with13 kills with Brianna Kane (Bethany, CT) recording 35 assists. In addition, Garza would fire down 6 service aces to the DC Chargers.
The Lady Warriors will look to keep its unbeaten streak alive as it prepares for a difficult road stretch of more conference teams beginning with an away contest this Friday against Post University followed by a home game on Saturday vs. Chestnut Hill.
