Eagles Unable To Snap Nyack's Win Streak, Fall 3-0

WATERBURY, CT (October 18, 2013)

The Post University women's volleyball squad was unable to snap Nyack's 6-match unbeaten streak Friday evening, falling to the Warriors in a 3-0 decision (33-31, 25-23, 26-24).

The Warriors were led by sophomore Samantha Garza (North Branch MI) and Christy Andrews (Houston, TX) who split 11 kills a piece. Garza would also out block the Eagles by a margin of 10-3 and notched 2 service aces along with PostU's Janielle Alvarez.

As a team the Warriors' hitting percentage reflected .149 with 5 aces while PostU tallied .097 on the night with 4 aces.

Senior setter Brianna Kane contributed with 34 assists and on the defensive end, graduate student Michelle Makela recorded 19 digs respectively.

Nyack volleyball (13-11, 9-2 CACC) have now won 7 straight matches and look to take on Chestnut Hill at home tomorrow, Saturday October 19th at 1pm in Bowman Gymnasium.
