Nyack Volleyball Ranked No. 1 In CACC North Division After 3-0 Win Over Felician

RUTHERFORD, NJ (October 24, 2013)

The Nyack women's volleyball team extends their streak, reaching double-digits at 10 consecutive wins while earning its eighth consecutive 3-0 shutout over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents Felician College.

Despite not having senior Deborah Schendel (Great Falls, MT) to contribute on the floor, the Warrior team managed to secure the needed victory, paving the way tonight for the first time, a No. 1 ranked spot in the CACC North Division. 

Nyack improve to 12-2 in conference play (16-11 overall) and now have won the past two regular season matches against Felician.

Freshman Abbey Lawson (Mililani, Hawai'i) stepped up, recording a team high 13 kills for the Warriors to lead the offense while sophomore Samantha Garza (North Branch, MI) added 12 kills and 3 blocks.

Senior Brianna Kane (Bethany, CT) recorded a team high 33 assists and 3 service aces respectively. Graduate student Michelle Makela (Cocoa, FL) had 15 digs on the defensive end.

Warriors are on the road Saturday October 26th heading to Pennsylvania to take on the No. 5 in the South Division, University of the Sciences in another conference battle setting off at 1pm.
