Box Score

The Basics:
Score: Nyack 1 | Concordia 3
Nyack Record: 1-10
Concordia Record: 2-2
Location: Bowman Gymnasium

Wednesday evening the Warriors Volleyball team took on the Clippers of Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference competition.  Bowman Gymnasium was alive with cheers from supporting fans, but, despite amazing defensive efforts, the Warriors were unable to conquer the forces of Concordia's offense.

How It Happened:
Sophomore Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, CA) established herself as a force in all areas of the game.  The sophomore led the Warriors offense with 10 kills, from the front and back row, sporting a .240 hitting percentage for the evening.  Winters was also the front runner on defense as well, earning 13 digs and a solo block.  Freshmen Natalie Anderson (Tualatin, OR) and Elizabeth Moore (Surprise, AZ) contributed to the Warriors 59 total digs of the night with 12 and 10 digs each.  Unfortunately, these statistics were not enough to top Concordia.

The first set saw the Warriors emerge victorious with a final score of 25-21.  The Warriors and the Clippers battled back and forth for control of the score throughout the set, but Nyack was able to end the set on top through an aggressive offense and strategic serving.  This battle continued through the second set, however, the Clippers were able to claim the win this time around.  The third set saw the Clippers make drastic adjustments to the Warriors offense, stacking on hitters and taking advantage of the defensive holes, leading to a final score of 25-9.  In set four, the Warriors managed to reclaim some ground against the Clippers, but unfortunately it was not enough to bring the match to five sets.  The final score of set four was 25-15 in favor of the Clippers.

Up Next:
The Warriors have the weekend off, but will return to action with a home game on Tuesday, September 29th, at 7pm against the defending conference champions: Post University.  Come ready to support your Nyack Warriors!
