In a match this Tuesday, September 29th, the Warriors fell short of victory against CACC front runner Post University.  The game would conclude in 3 sets with final scores of 25-8, 25-16, and 25-20 in favor of the Post University Eagles.

How It Happened:
Sophomores Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, CA) and Lindsay Miller (Chandler, AZ) topped the Warrior offense with 6 kills each against the Post Eagles.  Winters also led the Warriors with 2 aces from the service line while Miller and freshman Natalie Anderson (Tualatin, OR) added 1 ace each.  On defense, Miller and Anderson would join forces at the net, each tallying 1 solo block and 1 block assist.  In a team effort, the Warriors hardly let a ball touch the floor successfully digging 30 of the Eagles 66 attempts.  Freshman Libero Elizabeth Moore (Surprise, AZ) tallied 7 digs and was closely followed by Anderson with 6 digs.  Sophomores Jillian Smith (Oceanside, CA), Olivia Denny (Las Vegas, NV), and Miller would contribute 5 digs each to the Warriors total.

Despite the amazing efforts on defense, the Warriors were unable to catch up to the Eagles after a first set score of 25-8, though the play in each game progressively increased in competition and excellence.  The second set concluded with a final score of 25-16 in favor of Post.  The third set demonstrated drastic improvement as the Warriors gained control of the score for a portion of the match, fell behind by 7 points, but were able to regain momentum and end the game with a final score of 25-20, also in favor of the Eagles.  The win would propel the Eagles further in the conference as a top runner, having only lost one Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game this season.

Up Next:
Nyack Volleyball will travel this weekend to face Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference competition at 11am.  The Warriors return home next week with two matches in Bowman Gymnasium Wednesday, October 7th, at 7pm and Saturday, October 10th, at noon.
