On Saturday, October 3rd, the Warriors traveled to play Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.  In three sets, the Philadelphia University Rams defeated the Nyack Warriors with scores of 25-9, 25-21, and 25-10.

How It Happened:

Sophomore Lindsay Miller (Chandler, AZ) topped the Warrior offense recording 6 kills for the match, followed closely by sophomore Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, CA) who notched 5 kills through 3 sets of play.  Both Miller and Winters earned 1 service ace a piece and were joined by freshman Natalie Anderson (Tualatin, OR).  Anderson also led the Warriors on defense with 12 digs, 9 of which were received successively in 1 set.  Teammates sophomores Miller, Olivia Denny (Las Vegas, NV), and senior Annah Aguilar followed Anderson closely with 7 digs each.  Though the Warriors were unable to record a block for the match, they were able to hold the Rams at the net several times, producing extremely long rallies.

The Warriors welcomed the challenge of the first set establishing a narrow lead early in the game.  The Rams, however, rebounded quickly demanding control of the scoreboard.  The set concluded in favor of the Rams 25-9.  In the second set, the Warriors made vast adjustments, stepping up their defense and offense and battled through the teens maintaining control until 19 points in when the Rams were able to regain momentum and finish the set 25-21.  Set three saw a fighting spirit emerge from the Warriors that the scoreboard could not reflect.  Through long rallies and incredible resilience the Warriors fought and forced the Rams to earn every point they received.  In the end the set would conclude with a final score of 25-10 in favor of the Rams.
