Through 3 sets of competitive play with Holy Family University, the Warriors were unable to maintain control of the lead in their final rallies leading to a Tigers victory.

How It Happened:
The Warriors returned with their strong serving game, earning 11 service aces against the Tiger defense.  Sophomore Jillian Smith (Oceanside, CA) set the tone with 4 aces throughout the 3 sets.  Sophomores Lindsay Miller (Chandler, AZ), Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, CA), and freshman Natalie Anderson (Tualatin, OR) each earned 2 aces, while sophomore Kelsi Collins (Tarpon Springs, FL) contributed 1 ace to the Warrior effort.  The Warriors offensive approach was not limited to the service line as the Warriors pulled 90 attempts with 23 kills varying between front and back row attacks. Winters, Miller, and Smith brought consistency to the Warrior offense achieving 7, 5 and 4 kills respectively.

Nyack's defense procured 46 digs throughout the long rallies of each set.  Miller worked to earn 11 digs from the back row, while contributing 1 block, with Collins, to the Warrior defense as well.  Collins earned 7 digs; as did senior Annah Aguilar (New Bloomfield, PA) and Anderson, who were also able to stop the Tiger offense 3 times at the net.  Winters and Smith prevented the Tigers from garnering kills 8 and 6 times each while still remaining an option on offense.

The Warriors were unable to overcome the Tigers despite competitive play and exhaustive battles to lead on the scoreboard.  Set 1 saw the Warriors lead a neck and neck game until the final points when the Tigers stole the set 25-21.  In set 2, the Warriors fell in an 8 point rut early in the game.  Regardless of their effort to come back into the game, the Tigers were able to win 25-17.  Set 3 encompassed a familiar tone from set 1, with ties broken and the lead exchanged back and forth across the net.  Eventually, the Tigers would take set 3, and the match, with a score of 25-23.
