The Warriors lost in 3 sets to the Post University Eagles Thursday, October 29th, 2015. The Eagles are currently ranked 3rd in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference overall and are 1st in the north division with a record of 12-3 in conference.
How It Happened:
Sophomores Lindsay Miller (Chandler, AZ) and Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, CA) led the Warriors on offense with 8 kills against the Eagles each. Winters also added 2 service aces, continuing her aggressive run at the service line. Defensively, Winters picked up 7 digs preventing the Eagles from scoring on the Warriors. Miller followed suit with 6 digs as did senior Annah Aguilar(New Bloomfield, PA), sophomore Jillian Smith (Oceanside, CA), and freshman Natalie Anderson (Tualatin, OR). Four Warriors added to the defense at the net, Smith, Miller, Aguilar, and Anderson, earning 1 block against the Eagles. Sophomore Kelsi Collins provided a consistent front throughout the rotation manufacturing points in the front row, inducing out of system plays across the net, and providing ample opportunities for the offense to score off of serve receive. Unfortunately, the Warrior effort was not enough to overcome the Eagles.
The Eagles played a seemingly perfect offensive game with 0 errors in the first set , only 1 in the second, and 4 in the third. Post was also able to limit their serve receive errors to 4 for the match, but did record 6 service errors in the Warriors favor. In set 1 Post demonstrated their offenses skill winning 25-8 with 10 kills. Set 2 saw 14 kills from the Eagles earning a 25-11 victory. By set 3 the Warriors found a rhythm nearly stealing the set. The set would conclude in extra points with a final score of 26-24, granting Pos the match 3-0.
Nyack returns with a home game on Saturday, October 31st, at 12pm against CACC competitor Wilmington University. At this match the Warriors will be honoring Senior Annah Aguilar for her contributions to the program for the past 4 years. Come out and support your Warriors!
