Women's Volleyball Drops Both In Second Trimatch
Rockville Centre, NY - The Nyack Warriors volleyball team traveled to Molloy College for their second straight tri match in two days. They challenged the Molloy Lions and Le Moyne Dolphins, dropping both matches with scores of 0-3 and 1-3 to finish the weekend.

The Warriors came into the first match against Le Moyne looking to continue improving on what they had started the previous day. In the first set, the Warriors started off quickly by establishing their offense, even as they struggled to pass consistently. Le Moyne took back the momentum late in the game by winning some scrappy rallies, and the Warriors were unable to hold off a surge by the Dolphins, losing the first set 22-25. Moving into the second set, Le Moyne capitalized on their strong finish by pushing hard and taking advantage of several early Warrior mistakes, which led to Nyack closing out the second set down 15-25. Despite a solid performance from the Warriors' front row blocking, Le Moyne continued to put the ball away, and the Warriors dropped the third set 18-25. Larreya Hayden led the Warriors with 8 kills, Rachel Medin contributed 12 assists, and Kelsi Collins led the defense with 12 digs.

In the second match against Molloy, Nyack struggled at first to make offensive connections, dropping the first set 20-25. The Warriors found their rhythm in the second set, utilizing solid passing and defense to bring the heat on offense and pull out a close win 25-23. The Lions then picked up their game and got off to consecutive fast starts in the next sets. The Warriors were not able to keep them from putting away the ball, dropping the last two sets 17-25, 17-25. Alexus Winters led the Warriors in kills and digs with 11 kills and 14 digs, and Kaitlyn Massey added 20 assists.

The Warriors play next at Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday.
