Women's Volleyball Tops Dominican Chargers

The Nyack Warriors volleyball team swept the Dominican Chargers in straight sets on their home court, defeating their conference opponent for their second overall win and bringing their conference record to 2-1.

In the first set, the Warriors came out swinging. Their strong offense helped them to jump out to an early lead and they did not look back from there, taking the first set 25-15. In the second set, the Chargers answered back with some offense of their own, keeping the score tight through the first half of the game. The Warriors relied on their solid passing off of serve receive to keep setting up their hitters, capitalizing on Dominican errors to put away the second set 25-19. The third set followed the same storyline, with the Warriors continuing to put forth solid play. Nyack again found themselves battling closely with the Chargers to start the game, committing some unforced errors. The Warriors were able to overcome their own errors through on-target passing and smart choices on offense, closing out the third set 25-19.

Freshman Kyra Zuhlke led the Warriors at the net with 12 kills and 5 blocks. Freshman Rachel Medin contributed 13 assists and freshman libero British Dawson added 10 digs, with sophomore Kaitlyn Massey serving up 3 aces.
