Women's Volleyball Fall to Georgian Court Lion on the Road

The Nyack volleyball team traveled to Georgian Court to take on their conference opponent, dropping the match to the Lions 1-3.

In the first set, the Warriors and Tigers battled it out at the start of the game, trading points to keep it close. The Tigers stayed in the lead by a few points throughout the set, and even as Nyack mixed up their shots on offense, the Warriors were not able to pull ahead. Nyack lost the first set 19-25. Heading into the second set, the Warriors came out firing, taking an 8-0 lead that they did not relinquish. Their strong serving and strategic placements on offense, as well as solid defense, helped Nyack close out the second set 25-15.

The roles were switched in the third set as Georgian Court jumped out in the lead, capitalizing on some early Nyack errors. The Warriors started generating points on offense but were not able to overcome the deficit, dropping the third set 16-25. The fourth set started off in the same way, with the Lions quickly grabbing a lead. Nyack picked up their blocking game but the effort was not enough to take back the lead, and the Warriors lost the fourth set 17-25.

Kyra Zuhlke led the Nyack offense with 9 kills, with Rachel Medin adding 24 assists. British Dawson held down the defense with 18 digs and also contributed 3 service aces.

Up next, the Warriors take on Wilmington in a conference matchup at home on Friday.
