Women's Volleyball With Win Over Bloomfield Bears

The Nyack Warriors volleyball claimed a conference win in their away match against Bloomfield, beating the Bears 3-0 and improving their CACC record to 4-3.

In the first set, the Warriors and the Bears traded points to keep the score even in the start of the game. Nyack stepped it up with some strong kills from the middle and pulled away, capitalizing on Bloomfield errors to stay in the lead. Nyack won the first set 25-13. The Warriors started the second set in a similar way, playing point-for-point early on and then jumping ahead thanks to strategic choices on offense. The Bears pushed back, however, coming back from a 5-point deficit to tie the game at 20-20. The Warriors' defense held their ground, which gave their hitters the chance to put some pivotal balls away, closing out the second set with a win 25-22. In the third set, Nyack jumped out to an early 5-1 lead that they did not relinquish. Tough serving and defense led the Warriors to finish the third set 25-19.

Kyra Zuhlke and Alexus Winters led the Nyack offense with 9 kills each. Rachel Medin added 16 assists and British Dawson contributed 12 digs.

Up next, Nyack will travel to Caldwell for another conference matchup on Friday.
