Women's Volleyball Fights Hard but Comes Up Short Against Wildcats

Wilmington, DE – The Nyack College volleyball team was back on the road and traveled to Wilmington, DE to take on the Wilmington University Wildcats. In a hard fought battle the Warriors fell to the Wildcats in five sets. 

Final: Wilmington 3, Nyack 2 (25-13, 23-25, 25-27, 25-19, 15-13)
Records: WU (12-8, 6-2 CACC), NC (6-11, 5-4 CACC)

The Wildcats came out hot and took the first set with a score of 25-13. Wilmington was up 17-9 in the second set but the Warriors fought their way back and came out on top with a score of 25-23. Nyack used the momentum to take set three to take the lead with 2-1. Nyack was up 19-15 in the fourth set but struggled to close out the game which allowed the Wildcats to come back and force a fifth and game-deciding set. In the last set of the game the Wildcats jumped to an early 4-1 lead and protetected it until the end to win the game with a final score of 3-2. 

Nyack was led by senior Larreya Hayden with 15 kills. She was closeley followed by teammate Kyra Zuhlke with 13 kills. Rachel Medin orchestrated the Warriors' offense with 35 assists and British Dawson led Nyack with 23 digs. 

Nyack will be back on Wednesday when they host the Felician University Golden Falcons at home in a CACC matchup at 7pm.
