Volleyball Moves Back into First Place in the CACC North with Win over USciences

Nyack, NY – The Nyack College Warriors volleyball team enjoyed back to back wins this week when they defeated the USciences Devils with a score of 3-0 on Saturdat afternoon. With the win the Warriors improve to 8-11 overall and 7-4 in conference play. 

THE BASICS:
Final: USciences 0, Nyack 3 (16-25, 24-26, 23-25
Records: USP (5-12, 4-7 CACC), NC (8-11, 7-4 CACC)

GAME SUMMARY:
The Warriors got off to the better start winning the first set with a score of 25-16. But the Devils fought back gaining a lead of 19-12 in the second set. However, Nyack was able to find their way back into the game and stole the set with a score of 26-24. The third set was almost identitcal to the previous one. The Devils once again enjoyed a 19-12 lead, but Nyack was able to come back again and took set three and the game with a score of 25-23. 

KEY PERFORMERS:
Nyack was led by sophomore Kyra Zuhlke with 14 kills and senior Larreya Hayden with 10. British Dawson led the Warriors on the defensive end with 19 kills, while Rachel Medin recorded 29 assists by orchestrating the Nyack offense. 

COMING UP NEXT:
Nyack will host local rivals Dominican College on Tuesday when they take on the Chargers in a CACC match at 7pm.
