Volleyball Extends Winning Streak to Three with Win over Dominican

Nyack, NY – The Nyack College volleyball team hosted local rivals Dominican College in their third straight home contest on Tuesday night. The Warriors came out on top to extend their winning streak to three and improved to a 9-11 overall and 8-4 CACC record, which continues to place them first in the CACC North Division.

GAME SUMMARY:
Nyack dominated the game from the beginning taking sets one and two with scores of 25-8 and 25-11. Dominican enjoyed the better start into the third set with a 5-2 lead, but Nyack came back with a 11-1 run to set themselves up for a 25-16 success in the final set. 

KEY PERFORMERS:
Nyack was led by sophomore Kyra Zuhlke and freshman Cassady Hymes with seven kills each. Seniors Larreya Hayden and Megan Ma'afala-Maiava also added six each, while sophomore Rachel Medin directed the Warriors offense with 22 assists. Zuhlke and Medin also led the team with a combined total of seven blocks. Kaitlyn Massey contributed to the Warrior win with a game-high five service aces.  

COMING UP NEXT:
Nyack will travel to Mercy College on Friday at 7pm, before they will host the Concordia College Clippers on saturday for their homecoming match at 1:00pm.
