Volleyball Falls to Goldey-Beacom on the Road

Nyack, NY – The Nyack College volleyball team was back in action on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to Delaware to take on the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning. The Warriors were upended by the Lightning in five sets.

THE BASICS:
Final: Goldey-Beacom 3, Nyack 2 (25-16, 26-28, 21-25, 26-24, 15-9)
Records: GBC (5-19, 3-12 CACC), NC (10-14, 9-6 CACC)

GAME SUMMARY:
The Lightning took set one with a final score of 25-16. In set two both teams batteled back and forth with several lead changed. Nyack came out on top with a score of 28-26. Goldey-Beacom went up 9-4 in set three but the Warriors fought their way back into the set and won set three with a score of 25-21. It looked as if Nyack could run away with the game. The Warriors were up 23-21 in set four, but Goldey-Beacom wasn't done yet coming back to win the set 26-24. The fifth set was closely contested but with the score tied at six the Lightning pulled away to set themselves up for a 15-9 victory in set five to take the win.

KEY PERFORMERS:
Nyack was led by sophomore Kyra Zuhlke with 17 kills and five total blocks.

COMING UP NEXT:
Nyack will be back on Tuesday when they will travel to Post University for another CACC match. The game is scheduled for 7pm.
