Warriors Volleyball Falls to Concordia in 5 Set Thriller

The Nyack Warrior Volleyball team faced off against Concordia College in their first home conference match. Taking the game to five sets the Warriors batted hard for the win but were unable to pull through in the end losing the game in five sets. 

In the first set, the Warriors took an early lead finding themsleves ten points ahead of Concordia and securing the set with a total score of 25-13. 

In the second set, Concordia decided to bring their game winning the very first point on a kill. From there the Warriors were unable to find their serving groove which allowed for Concordia to stay in the game. At a score of 17-22, the Warriors decided to pick up their game and come back from a five point deficit. The Warriors continued to fight for the win and traded points with Concordia until the final kill by Concordia securing the set in their favor at a final score of 30-28. 

In the third set, the Warriors were able to clean up their errors and serve tough once again bringing them to an advantage over Concordia. The Warriors found themselves once again inthe lead by ten points over Concordia. Although Concordia was able to bridge the gap, the Warriors were able to pull through with the set win with a final score of 25-17. 

In the fourth set, Nyack and Concordia stayed neck and neck throughout the first half of the set trading points. It wasn't until a score of 10-12 that the Warriors fell far behind Concordia by losing eleven points in a row. The Warriors began to fight hard to bridge the point gap featuring kills by Cassady Hymes and a service ace by Shayna Timson. The Warriors were able to catch up but not enough to secure the win, losing the game with a score of 25-22. 

The fifth and final set of the game, the Warriors started off slow missing the first four service opportunities. Concordia was able to pull ahead taking a seven point lead ahead of Nyack. Again, the Warriors found themselves fighting to bridge the gap but once again fell short losing the set and the match with a final score of 15-9, and match 3-2.
