NYACK, NY (June 21, 2013)
Women's Cross Country coach, Latia Deylii, is excited to announce Trisha Frazer, graduate of Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to a National Letter of Intent.
Trisha was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Roger and Jane Frazer and has one older sister, Brooke.
Trisha attends The Experience Community church in Murfreesboro and enjoys singing, acting, and playing the piano. Trisha has been running both cross country as well as track & field since 7th grade. "My friends were doing cross country so I decided to try it and ended up loving it!" Trisha expressed. In high school she would train year round for the Siegel Stars competing in cross country and both indoor & outdoor track for the 4A district program. Her events for track and field would include the 1600, 3200, and the 4x800 meter races.
During Trisha's junior and senior year, she had the opportunity to partake in attending North Carolina State's All-American Cross Country Training Camp. Trisha is currently ranked second in the TSSAA Region and has received All-State accolades her senior year for cross country. In addition, she helped lead her cross country team to a state runner-up finish at the 2012 TSSAA State Cross Country Meet.
Trisha was a Top-30 finisher at the Footlocker South Regional Championships and Mid-State for her 2011 and 2012 cross country season. As a senior captain, Trisha was honored to receive the LARZ Award (Leadership, Attitude, Respect, Zeal) by her coach, Phil Young.
Recognitions for track and field include being a TSSAA State Qualifier and named Rutherford County MVP in 2012.
Coach Deylii on Trisha: "I couldn't be more thrilled to have her. Trisha is an exceptional athlete and an even greater woman of character. She comes highly recommended by her coach; I know she'll represent Nyack well in every aspect. Her best running days are ahead and I look forward to the opportunity to work with Trisha as she joins our Warrior Running family."
Aside from competing, Trisha enjoys cycling, hiking, and quality time with her family and friends. She chose Nyack because she felt it's where God wanted her to go.
"I could just see myself going there and the environment fit me really well," stated Trisha. "I want to glorify God by using the gifts he has given me. I want to improve and do the best I can so He can get the glory! I'm ready for our team to push each other and develop close bonds so we can all work together on the course and become successful."
