Baseball Tops Dominican in 7-4 in CACC Play

POMONA, NY (April 5, 2013)

Two days removed from a non-conference extra innings loss to Dominican, the Warriors would top rival Dominican College in CACC action by a score of 7-5.

The Warriors now bring their CACC record to 1-4 with the victory.

Nyack would add two runs in the top of the first on a Brent James bases loaded walk and an rbi single off the bat of Phil Erwin to gain a 2-0 lead.  Nyack would make the score 5-0 in the third inning on an rbi double off the bat of Erwin, an rbi single from Eric Roe, and an rbi double from John Kennedy.

The Warrior team would take advantage of two Dominican miscues in the 5th and 8th innings and would hold on for the 7-4 victory.

Cole Tobin would be outstanding in the winning effort on the hill for Nyack, pitching 8 strong innings, scattering 10 hits and striking out 5. Phil Erwin and Brent James would finish the day with multiple hit efforts with Erwin collecting 3 rbi's. John Kennedy would also add a pair of stolen bases to his CACC league leading total.

Nyack returns to CACC action tomorrow with a home double header against Post University. First pitch is slated for 12 PM.
