Baseball Falls at Wilmington 2-8, 0-1

Wilmington, DE - The men's baseball team would come out on the short side of two hard fought games against CACC foe Wilmington University by scores of 8-2 and 0-1.

Defense would be the difference in game 1, as Wilmington would use 5 unearned runs to bolster their way to a 8-2 victory.  Phil Erwin collected 3 hits in the loss, and Eric Roe drove in both Warrior runs.

Logan White takes the loss for Nyack, going 3.1 innings and allowing 2 earned runs.  Matthias Westfall was solid in relief for Nyack, pitching 4.2 innings allowing 1 earned run and striking out 3.

In game two, the Warriors would out hit WilmU 8-3 in but would be unable to notch the hit they needed before falling 0-1.

Erik Puterio would turn in his best pitching performance of the season, pitching 8 strong innings allowing 1 earned on 3 hits and striking out two.  Jan-Pierre Crespo would go 4 for 4 in the game two loss.

Nyack would strand 18 base runners in the double header.

The Warriors 6-9 in CACC play, return to non-conference action Tuesday when they host Mercy College at 3 PM.
