Baseball Defeats Mercy  12-9
Pomona, NY- The Warriors defeated Mercy College by a score of 12-9 yesterday afternoon at Provident Bank Park.
Coming off a solid start last week, Senior Jonathon Colon would hold the Mavericks to 2 runs over 5 innings, while scattering 6 hits and 1 walk.
Nyack would jump to an early lead with a 2 RBI single from Junior Eric Roe and an RBI single from Kris Chatman in the bottom of the 1st inning. The Warriors would tack on to their lead with 2 runs in the 5th inning with an RBI sac bunt from Senior TJ Briggs, and Jose Rodriguez' hard hit ball to short stop to score Eric Roe.
With the score tied 6-6 going into the bottom of the 7th, Sophomore Tino Pardo would work a walk to get the bases loaded for Sophomore Kris Chatman who delivered an RBI single up the middle. Still loaded, Sophomore Cole Tobin would drive in all three base runners with a 3 RBI double to left field to seal the win for the Warriors.
Kris Chatman, TJ Briggs and Phil Erwin all had multi hit games. Cole Tobin ended the game with 2 hits and 3 RBI's while Erik Roe collected 4 hits on the day.
Freshman pitcher Tony Campbell earns his second victory of the season throwing a scoreless 7th inning, striking out 2 Mavericks.
The Warriors travel to Bronxville, NY on Wednesday to take on Concordia College for a CACC double header slated to start at 1:30pm.
