Pomona, NY - The men's baseball team overcame a late Felician rally to win 5-4 in a CACC game this afternoon at Provident Bank Park. The Warriors and Felician split the season series and Nyack moves to 17-13 on the season and 9-2 in conference play.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd, Eric Roe would drive in Jan-Pierre Crespo with an rbi single to knot the game at 1-1. Nyack would get back to back two out hits an inning later with an rbi single from Cole Tobin and an RBI double from Brent James scoring Tobin all the way from first base. Hilario Vidaurre would bring himself in with two outs in the fifth with the rare steal of home.
Felician would rally in the 7th, erasing a 3 run deficit to make the score 4-4. Nyack would regain the lead in the bottom of the 7th, Kennedy would walk and steal second before scoring on a line drive off the bat of James that was mishandled by a Felician outfielder.
Zack Kamerman would come on for his first collegiate save, pitching two scoreless frames, striking out 4 to close out the Warriors 9th CACC win of the season.
Matthias Westfall would throw six strong innings, allowing 1 earned run and striking out 5. Eric Roe would also tally two hits in the win.
The Warriors (17-13, 9-2) return to conference action Saturday when they take on Chestnut Hill for a DH beginning at 12 PM.
