Danbury, CT - The men's baseball team would use 4 homers to come back from an early deficit and take the 9-8 victory over Post University this afternoon at Rogers Park. The win pushes the Warriors to 11-3 in CACC play and 19-14 on the season.
John Kennedy would begin the Nyack scoring in the top of the 1st inning, driving a 3-2 pitch out of the park to give Nyack an early 1-0 lead. Post would answer with a grandslam in the bottom of the first to take a early 4-1 advantage. An RBI double from Kennedy in the 2nd, and an RBI single in the 3rd from Jan-Pierre Crespo would cut the Post lead to 4-3. Post would add two runs in the bottom of the inning to widen their lead to 6-3, but Nyack would respond a frame later, when Dylan Schantz sent his first collegiate homer over the left center field fence to make the score 6-4.
Post would again widen their advantage in the bottom of the 4th with a two out, two run double to make the score 8-4. Ryan Kahl would give the Warriors a 9-8 lead with homers in the 7th (2-run) and 8th innings (3-run) to put Nyack ahead for the first time.
Kennedy, Brent James, Crespo, and Ryan Kahl would each collect two hits for the Warriors, with Kahl driving in 5 rbi.
The Warriors return to non-conference action tomorrow when they travel to take on Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY at 3 PM.
