LANTANA, FL - The Nyack College Baseball team traveled to the warmer climate of Florida to begin their spring break action, where Nyack took on Post University on the first day and Merrimack College on the second day in a doubleheader.

The Warriors would get edged out 1-0 to Post and drop both games to Merrimack by the same close final scores of 1-0.

How It Happened:
vs. POST
Warrior Craig Jacobs (Hawthorne, NJ) pitched 6 strong innings with only one earned run. The Eagles would score their lone run in the second inning with a lead-off double followed by a base hit to earn the win on Friday.

vs. MERRIMACK (G1)
Merrimack would score the lone run of the contest in the 4th inning when they capitalized on two Warrior defensive miscues.  Erik Bussey would throw all 7 innings for Nyack scattering 3 Merrimack hits, walk 1 and striking out 4.  Game 1 would be completed in 75 minutes.

vs. MERRIMACK (G2)
Game two was hi-lighted with Nyack's third brilliant pitching performance of the Florida trip, with Cole Tobin allowing just 1 run in 6 2/3, scattering 10 hits and striking out 3.  Merrimack would execute a double steal with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th to give them the walk off win.

Words From Coach Cornacchione:
"Despite the end results, we are doing very good things defensively and on the mound.  That is 3 of the best consecutive starts we have had in our program in the last 6 years.  Our offense looks young right now and I believe we will get better throughout our final 4 games down here."

Up Next:
Head Coach Matt Cornacchione and the Warriors return to action on Monday, March 9th as they prepare to face the Skyhawks of Stonehill College.
