Gacik and Trott Storm to a Top-15 Finish at Philly Metro Meet

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Nyack College men's cross country team took part in the 2014 Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship where sophomore Mateusz Gacik (Mysliborz, Poland) and freshman Thomas Trott (Frederick, MD) would earn Top-15 accolades in the 110 runner field at Belmont Plateau on Saturday.

Gacik, last week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Runner of the Week, finished the hilly 8k course in 30:12 to earn 8th place overall while Trott, just three places behind, would record a 30:31 and finish in 11th place.

Eric Lacy of Philadelphia University was the individual champion for the second straight year. Lacy made quick work of the 8-kilometer Liberty Bell Course as he finished the race with a time of 28:06 and picked up his second win of 2014. He was 29 seconds ahead of runner-up Luis Romero from Bloomfield College.

The Running Warriors return to action on Saturday, October 4, 2014 competing at the Lehigh University/Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
