The Men's Cross Country Team earned 3rd place this Saturday, September 26th, out of 15 total teams at the Osprey Invitational in Galloway, NJ. The 8k course had a pool of 148 runners, in which, Nyack was able to place four runners in the top 40.
How It Happened:
Freshman Ian Mirtile (Melbourne, Australia) was Nyack's top runner earning 7th place out of a pool of 148 runners. His average mile time was clocked in at 5:28 with a total course finish of 27:10.5. Nyack's 2nd top runner earning 22nd place was junior Mateusz Gacik (Mysliborz, Poland). Gacik held a pace of 5:39.5 per mile, completing the course in 28:09.1. Freshman Zachary Trador (Seminole, FL) achieved 31st place as Nyack's 3rd top runner, with a pace of 5:47.1 and a total course finish of 28:45.5. Wrapping up Nyack's top 4 runners with 37th place was sophomore Nathaniel Dominy (Christiansburg, VA) whose mile pace was 5:49.4 and completed the course in 28:57.0.
The Men's Cross Country team is back in action this Friday, October 2nd, in another 8k as part of the Paul Short Run, presented by Asics. The race will begin at 1:45 pm and will take place at Lehigh University Campus in Bethlehem, PA.
