Second Half Goal Lifts Women's Soccer Over Bloomfield, 2-1

BLOOMFIELD, NJ (September 25, 2013)

Today the Nyack women's soccer team was back in action to face the Blooomfield Lady Deacons. After a tied 1-1 first period, a second half goal allowed the Lady Warriors to secure the 2-1 victory in this Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup.

Nyack would be the first to score as senior, Amanda Halter, netted her team leading second goal of the season at the 18th minute. Halter recieved a diagonal cross from teammate Julia Losert, to which she then fired the shot near the post.

Nearing towards the end of the first half, Bloomfield's Alison Galiano, scored the equalizer which was a 30 yard launch from the left side.

In the 67th minute, skilled sophomore, Losert would jumpstart the Lady Warriors game winning goal and tally her second assist of the match, as she sent a low cross from the left to far post and find junior, Shaina Tomilin.

Madeline Barbarino recorded three saves in 90 minutes of play while the Warriors outshot Bloomfield 13-8.

Halter, Tomilin, Losert, and Cyan Jean-Baptiste currently all lead the Lady Warriors splitting 2 goals a piece and totaling 8 team goals for the six games played thus far.

Nyack (3-3, 2-1 CACC) have a few days off before the travel to face oldey-Beacom on Saturday, September 28th at 3pm kickoff.
