WILMINGTON, DE (Septemer 28, 2013)
The Nyack women's soccer team picked up it's second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win.
After their victory over Bloomfield University earlier this week, the Warriors would also defeat Goldey-Beacom College 3-1 on Saturday, with senior Amanda Halter scoring all 3 goals. This would be Halter's 4th total goal from the two games played this week.
During the 1st period, GBC's Nicole Curry notched the first goal giving them the 0-1 advantage.
Fifteen minutes later, Halter took a far side cross pass from teammate Alexsa Gonzalez which lead to a 1-on-1 with the keeper for a successful goal. Nyack would end the half tied at one a piece with GBC.
The Lady Warriors displayed character and patience second half which contributed to favorable results.
In period 2 Nyack's next goal came by way of Halter's penalty kick within the 61st minute. Her first hat trick (and fifth season goal) came during the 87th minute from an assist by teammate Kassandra Tischer, which led to a shot in the top right corner.
Nyack dominated the match both on offense and defense as they had 22 shots at the Lightning goal and limited Goldey-Beacom to a total of only 2 shots.
Nyack is now 4-3-0 and 3-1-0 (CACC) on the season, and the Lightning, still unable to notch a win to their record, gain their fifth loss of the season.
Lady Warriors take the field next Tuesday October 1st ast they are scheduled to take on Felician College at 3:30pm. The CACC match-up will be a home contest on Mosley Field in Nyack, NY.
