NYACK, NY - Playing in a continuous driving rainstorm, the Nyack College women's soccer team put up a valiant fight against the visiting Cougars before falling 2-0 at Mosley Field on Tuesday afternoon. With the field covered in water and mud, Warrior goalkeeper Madeline Barbarino (Staten Island, NY) managed to recover a season-best 13 saves, but Nyack was unable to convert in the nasty conditions.

Both teams put up a solid first half defensive effort before having to stall the match for twenty minutes with 05:02 remaining in regulation due to lightning. Once the match resumed, the score would reflect 0-0 going into the second period.

Caldwell's Sarina Soriano netted the team's first goal during the 57th minute. Nyack's best chance to tie the match was at the 61st minute when Jessica Short's (Tottenham, Canada) shot hit the crossbar followed by another golden opportunity when Rebekah Lawler's (Forked River, NJ) shot from inside the box was blocked.

The Cougars added an assurance goal during the 65th minute when Natalie Migoya found Melissa Stec whose goal was enough to help the Caldwell earn their sixth conference win, as Nyack drops 3-7-0 in league play.
