NYACK, NY - The Nyack College women's soccer team got its Senior Day match off on the right foot as the Lady Warriors defeated the Chestnut Hill Griffins at home by a score of 2-1. Both teams came into the match with the same number of wins on the season. The win by Nyack elevates the team to 3-6 in conference play while the Griffins are set back to 2-6 in the league.

In the first period freshman, Rebekah Lawler (Forked River, NJ) netted an unassisted goal during the 21st minute. The defense did a great job taking away opportunities for the Griffins to score as the Warriors outshot Chestnut hill 4-0 in the first half. On minute and thirty seconds into the second period, Victoria Fioretti tied the match 1-1 landing a fast goal for the Griffins. Fourteen minutes later, Warrior Lawler responded with her second goal of the match to give Nyack back the 2-1 advantage. As the match came to its closing minutes, Chestnut Hill was unable to re-tie the game and Nyack earned their third win on the season.

In the match Nyack outshot Chestnut hill 16-8 and took a total of three corner kicks while the Griffins took two. Senior goalkeeper, Madeline Barbarino, (Staten Island, NY) recorded two saves on the day for the Warriors.
