Nyack returned to the field after Tuesday's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against Caldwell University to face Queen's (N.Y.) in a non-conference match. Unfortunately, the Warriors are still looking for their first win of the season after a tough 4-0 loss to Queens College (N.Y.) this Thursday afternoon.
How It Happened:
After a scoreless first half, Nyack's Women's Soccer team lost to visiting Queens (N.Y.) 4-0. Queens was able to record 14 shots with 9 shots on goal and 4 goals across the 90 minutes of play. The first goal for Queens was earned in the 49th minute off of a header. More action would continue in the Warrior goal as shots were made in the 54th and 57th minute.
Warrior keeper sophomore Jordan Jansen (Lafayette, NJ) was able to record her first save of the half amidst the successive attacks; however, the action did not stop there. In the 59th minute, Queens was able to score off of a deflected ball and then score again 45 seconds later. For their final notch on the scoreboard, Queens was awarded a penalty kick resulting in a goal in the 77th minute.
The Warriors were not able to match those numbers, producing 3 shots with 2 shots on goal. Warrior keeper Jansen was able to record 5 saves against Queens 9 shots on goal. Freshman Vanessa Séfriou (Québec, Canada) led the Warriors in scoring attempts with 2 shots and 1 shot on goal. Senior Krystal Vega (Anaheim Hills, CA) added 1 shot on goal to the Warriors offense as well. The game would conclude with a final score of Queens 4, Nyack 0.
The Women's Soccer team takes to the road this weekend as they face Mercy College in a non-conference match at 12pm Saturday, September 19th. They return this upcoming week with two home games on Wednesday, September 23, against Concordia and Saturday, September 26, against Georgian Court.
