Philadelphia, PA- The Warriors traveled this weekend after coming off of a loss from a non-conference match against St Rose. Nyack's defense proved much better as Greta Enloe made a shutout in the first half. However, that was not enough for the Warriors as an immediate goal in the start of the second period gave the Rams a 1-0 lead and their only goal of the game. The Lady Warriors could not draw the game and dropped their 10th CACC match. They now stand with a 1-10 CACC record.
The ball stayed majority at Jefferson's feet as they found themselves in Nyack territory within one minute of kick off. Their 10 shot attempts over Nyack's one shot was no match as the 45 minute period ended with a 0-0 score. Jessica Short had the lone shot for Nyack however it went wide. Nyack's keeper, Greta Enloe, made 6 saves to help the Warriors with a no scoring first half. The Warriors defense managed to clear two corner kicks by the Rams.
Within 50 seconds of kick off for the second 45 minute period, the Rams completed a set piece that gave them a 1-0 lead. Their goal was assisted by Morgan Foster and finishing just below the crossbar was Dena Noiseux with her 6th goal on the season. The Warriors struggled to fight back and draw a tie. Most of the possession was with the Rams and they could not finish another shot to add to their lead. They had 14 shot opportunities and five were saved by Nyack's Enloe. Nyack continued to work their way up the field but could not find any opening to take a shot on goal. Jefferson would add another win to their 8-3-0 CACC record. Greta Enloe recorded a season high 11 saves for this game.
The Warriors will meet with Concordia on Tuesday, October 24th. They will host this last CACC match of the season at Nyack High School with the game starting at 7:00pm.
