The Nyack College Warriors women's soccer team competed in a home conference game today in Jersey City against Caldwell University for their last game of the season. The Warriors managed to hold off Caldwell until the second half where Caldwell scored all their goals. The Warriors lost the game with a final score of 0-6.
In the first half of the game, Nyack came out strong. Playing confdently on both offense and defense, the Warriors were able to keep Caldwell from finding the back of the net, as well as adding six shots on goal for their stats. Unfortuantely, none of the Warrior's shots on goal made it into the back of the net and the score at the end of the first half was 0-0.
In the second half of the game, Caldwell came out of the gate with momentum scoring two bakc to back goals within the first ten minutes of the half. They continued to take shots earning a total of 13 shots on goal for the half as compared to Nyack's one shot on goal. The Warriors were forced to play defense for most of this half as Caldwell continued to score. At a time of 55:46 they scored their third goal of the game. At a time of 62:54 Caldwell scored their fourth goal and then had two more back to back goals ten minutes later. The Warriors were unable to create anything promising for the rest of the half, ultimately losing the game.
The Warriors women's soccer team had a fighting season but will not proceed to playoffs.
